Christine Calvert
I believe healing is less about fixing and more about remembering—who we are, what we carry, and what we came here knowing. I work with people at thresholds—times of loss, transition, emergence, and descent—where the old no longer fits and the new has yet to fully form.
I’m a somatic practitioner, former licensed addictions counselor, and certified Holotropic Breathwork® facilitator. I’m a grief and threshold tender. I serve as a teacher and module facilitator for Grof Transpersonal Training in the U.S. and internationally. For nearly two decades, I’ve supported others in the territory where body, psyche, and spirit meet—through expanded states, deep integration, and transformative life experiences.
Before returning to somatic and counseling work, I completed a year of pre-med and two years of naturopathic medical school, which deepened my reverence for the body’s innate intelligence. But I came to understand that my work belonged in more relational, experiential spaces.
My practice is rooted in a deep respect for the wisdom of the soma and psyche, and a commitment to helping people orient in times of uncertainty—reclaiming inner authority, making meaning, and remembering their mythic thread. I aim to normalize descent as part of the journey, not something to bypass but to be lived through and integrated.
My work often orients around early imprints, developmental trauma, and perinatal layers of experience, informed by Grof’s perinatal matrices and somatic tools for accessing and integrating early developmental material. After 12 years of licensure, I released my clinical credential to work more freely across state lines and outside conventional models. My work is grounded in rigorous training, but it doesn’t translate neatly into traditional credentials. Instead, it lives in the spaces between modalities—where instinct, presence, and attunement lead.
I strive to offer care that is LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, and rooted in a decolonial approach to healing, beginning with my own body and practice.
I’m also a potter and student of hand work—learning the slow, steady rhythm of weaving and vessel-building—as well as a student of tea and plants, listening for the quiet ways the earth teaches. Whether in circle, in session, or in the rhythm of clay and leaf, I honor healing as a creative, embodied, and relational unfolding.
